The Cenotaph in Port Glasgow is a memorial dedicated to the soldiers who died fighting in the two world wars. The memorial consists of an obelisk decorated with wreaths of laurel, bearing a bronze plaque of WW1 names on each face. Behind the pillar is a remembrance wall bearing the names of the soldiers who fell in the Second World War. The memorial site is within a railed enclosure, rightly so that we should protect this lovely monument to those who died protecting us future generations.
